White Chocolate Molten Lava Cake

This white chocolate molten lava cake is dangerously delicious and so easy to make! They make for the perfect fancy dinner dessert and no one has to know they literally take 15 minutes prep to finish to make!

They can be a little temperamental as far as keeping the cake from breaking before you serve it but even if it breaks it still tastes amazing and the gooey magic inside is what this cake is all about! I dyed my cake red for Valentines day and I loved how it looked red! You can do any color you want (imagine purple, blue or green or even a whole rainbow for a dinner party!) or leave it white and it’s super fun.

What you need to make white chocolate molten lava cake:

Makes 2 – 3 inch mini cakes

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 450 F.
  2. Prepare 2 – 3 ” mini cake pans by spraying them with oil and dusting with flour. Don’t skip the flour or the cakes will stick.
  3. In a medium microwave safe bowl, melt butter for 30 seconds.
  4. Add white chocolate chips and let sit for a minute.
  5. Stir chocolate chips and butter together until white chocolate chips are melted. If the chocolate chips do not melt then microwave for 5 second intervals then stir until they are all melted into the butter.
  6. Add vanilla, food coloring, sugar and salt to the butter mixture and stir.
  7. Add egg and egg yolk and stir again.
  8. Sprinkle flour over the top of batter and mix it in well.
  9. Pour into prepared mini cake pans and bake for 8:30-9 minutes. In my experience 10 minutes will be too long but all ovens vary slightly. The sides will fell like they are starting to set but the middle will feel runny.
  10. Remove from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute before gently flipping them over onto the serving plate.
  11. Enjoy!
