Easy Walnut Pesto

Classic pesto with walnuts instead of pine nuts!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh basil loosely packed
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic or 1 large clove
  • generous pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • pinch sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • In a food processor, add basil, walnuts, garlic, salt, parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast, pinch of sugar and lemon juice and begin pulsing while you pour in the olive oil.
  • Once it's sufficiently blended it's ready to go and can be used immediately.
