Sage Cream Sauce

A delicious sage infused béchamel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup white onion - finely diced
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt - more to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground sage
  • 2 1/2 cups milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • In a sauce pan, add onion and butter and sauté until onion starts to soften.
  • Sprinkle flour, salt, pepper and sage over the butter mixture and stir.
  • Whisk in the milk. cream and Worcestershire sauce bring mixture to a boil.
  • Boil mixture until it thickens.
  • Taste and add more salt if desired.
