Ingredients
7cupssourdough bread - about 5 slicescut into chunks
7eggs
2cupsmilk
1teaspoonmustard - any varietyyellow, Dijon or spicy brown
1/4teaspoonblack pepper more if you like black pepper
1teaspoonsalt
1/2poundground sausage - any variety
1 1/2cupsshredded cheddar cheese - divided
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 F.
Cut bread and set aside.
Cook sausage and set aside.
In a bowl, add eggs, milk, mustard, black pepper, salt, sausage, 1 cup of cheddar cheese and mix together.
Add the bread chunks and sausage to egg mixture and mix well until bread is totally covered.
Pour mixture into a greased casserole dish and top with the remaining shredded cheese.
Bake for 35 minutes then broil the top for ~2 minutes until top is golden. If cooking from it being refrigerated then add an additional 10 minutes bake time .
