In a sauce pan, add sugar, water, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, ginger, corn syrup, salt and soy sauce and bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and simmer until the mixture thickens slightly and resembles a syrup. If you are familiar with candy making stages you want this to be at a thread stage.
Pour 3/4ths of the glaze on top of your ham during the last 20-30 minutes of baking. Once the ham cools slightly (about 15 minutes) and is sliced, pour the remaining glaze over the slices.
