Apricot BBQ Sauce

Sweet, tangy and delicious barbecue sauce, perfect with pork, chicken or beef!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups apricots - pits removed
  • 1/2 cup sugar - this can be reduced if you don't want the sauce as sweet
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper - add more if you want this sauce spicy
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  • If using an immersion blender then add all ingredients to a large pot and blend together.
  • If using a blender, add apricots, sugar, molasses and vinegar to a blender and blend until smooth, then return to a pot and add all other ingredients.
  • Bring mixture to a boil, stirring frequently then simmer for 10 minutes or until mixture reduces to desired thickness.
  • use over favorite meats or as dipping sauce.
