Swedish Meatballs

Easy to make Swedish meatballs that go great over egg noodles.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium yellow onion - diced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can of water
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • dash of allspice
  • 3 tablespoons apple juice - apple cider can be used as well
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 package frozen Swedish meatballs
  • 1 package of egg noodles - cooked
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Cook egg noodles, toss in butter or oil so they don't stick then drain and set aside.
  • Dice the onion and add it to a skillet along with olive oil and salt.
  • Cook until onion softens and begins to brown.
  • Add cream of mushroom soup, water, nutmeg, back pepper, allspice, apple juice, apple cider vinegar and sour cream and bring mixture to a boil.
  • Add frozen meatballs and simmer until meatballs are cooked through.
  • Serve over egg noodles.
