Ham and pea gravy over egg noodles

A lighter variation of gravy over toast this pasta dish has the same comforting flavors and it's super quick and easy to make too.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces egg noodles - half a standard sized bag
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup onions - finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt + more to taste
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoons black pepper - this depend how much you like in your dishes I like a lot so I all 1/2 teaspoon plus more on top of my portion
  • 1 cup ham - diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • Parmesan cheese for on top

Instructions

  • Salt water and cook pasta.
  • While pasta is cooking, add olive oil to a non-stick pan and add onions.
  • Cook onions until they start to soften and get golden.
  • Sprinkle flour over the onions and oil and stir.
  • Add milk and mix well into the onions and oil mixture.
  • Add salt, black pepper, ham and frozen peas and stir until peas are cooked through and sauce starts to thicken slightly.
  • Drain your noodles and add gravy on top of them then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and I add fresh cracked black pepper too but that is optional.
