Homemade Twix Bars

These homemade twix bars are super delicious and the whole family will love them! The bottom is a buttery shortbread cookie, topped with creamy salted caramel and then milk chocolate on top! If you have twix lovers in the house they will love these.

The homemade caramel is easy to make! The perfect cook can be achieved by doing the ice water test. That is where you fill a cup with ice water and during the cooking process drop a small spoon full of hot candy into the water. Feel the caramel with your fingers to see what the caramel feels like. When it forms a soft ball then you are ready. Candy thermometers help too but are not always perfectly accurate. To learn more about candy making stages check out candy making 101 Link HERE.
