Instant Pot Chinese Braised Short Ribs

Tender short ribs that are fall apart tender from cooking in the instant pot and have a delicious seasoning and sauce!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless beef short ribs or 1.5 pounds bone-in short ribs
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chinese five spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce - any soy sauce will work
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or stock

Instructions

  • In an instant pot, add short ribs, Chinese five spice, garlic powder, salt, soy sauce and beef stock and cook on high pressure for 45 minutes with a quick release.
  • Short ribs should be tender at this point, if your short ribs are still tough, add 5 minutes and cook on high pressure again.
  • Once short ribs are tender, shred or serve whole, if using a bone in short rib, remove the bone before serving.
