Sautéed Apples With Chicken Sausages

The sautéed apples and caramelized onions add such a great flavor to the chicken sausages in this dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 2 apples - peeled, cored and diced
  • 1/2 onion - diced
  • dash of salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons bacon bits
  • 5 chicken sausages premade sausages of choice

Instructions

  • In a sauté pan, add the oil, apples and onion and begin cooking until onions start to soften. about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add salt, sugar, mustard, white wine vinegar and water and then simmer apples and onions until the apples are softened and onions start to caramelize.
  • Add bacon bits to the mixture and serve over cooked sausages.
