Persimmon Spice Bread

This persimmon spice bread recipe is simple and delicious with the flavors of pumpkin pie spice and orange going through it. It tastes a little like pumpkin bread and a Wassel drink combined in a tasty sweet bread form.

Ingredients

  • 3 persimmons - peeled
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • zest of 1 orange
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 3/4 cup salted butter - melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Add the peeled persimmons to a blender or food processor then add to a mixing bowl, add sugar, orange zest, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, melted butter, eggs and milk then mix well.
  • In a small bowl, add the baking powder, baking soda, salt and flour then mix well.
  • Add flour mixture to the liquid mixture and stir until batter is combined well.
  • Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the center is baked through.
  • Cool before slicing and enjoying.
