15 Minute Steak Fajitas

Ingredients

  • 1 red bell pepper - sliced into thin strips
  • 1 orange bell pepper - sliced into thin strips
  • 1 onion - sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • pounds ~1 and 1/2of top round steak thin sliced or any meat thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  • Slice peppers and onions and add to a pan.
  • Add olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper, chili powder, cumin and salt.
  • Cook over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.
  • Add water and lime juice and cover pan for 3 minutes.
  • Remove pan and cook out the remaining water.
  • Stir the onions and peppers in the juices and seasoning from the evaporated water.
  • They should get nice and caramelize, remove from heat and set aside.
  • For the steak, season each side of the steak with salt, garlic black pepper and chili powder.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan and right before the pan starts to smoke, add the steak and sear on each side for ~2-3 minutes each side.
  • Remove from pan and let it rest for 3 minutes, then slice.
  • To assemble, fill tortillas with peppers and onions, steak and any toppings you want to add.
