Chinese Five Spice & Orange Chewy Molasses Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Molasses
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Orange Zest
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • Dash of Nutmeg
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven to 375 F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine butter, brown sugar and molasses and blend until the mixture is well blended together.
  • Add the egg, vanilla, orange zest, Chinese five spice, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg and blend until smooth.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt and stir together.
  • Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and blend until smooth.
  • Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch round balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar then place on a greased cookie sheet. Press cookies down with 2 fingers so they are disc shapes.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes. Enjoy!
