1cupmilk - if making pancakes add an additional 1/2 cup milk

Instructions
Heat butter in a sauce pan until it turns light brown, remove it from the stove and pour into another dish promptly, it will keep cooking and you don't want it to burn. It can get pretty dark before it actually tastes burnt though, so if you are worried then taste it.
Let the mixture cool until it's just warm, not hot.
In another bowl, add flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, eggs, milk, vanilla and warm butter and stir until it's all blended and smooth.
