Ingredients

  • 1 large salmon fillet - ~3 pounds
  • 1/2 cup salted butter - melted
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup - preferably real maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat grill to 400 F.
  • Add salmon fillet to parchment paper lined baking pan.
  • Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper.
  • Add half of the melted butter to the salmon and place on the grill.
  • Grill for roughly 15-20 minutes or until fish is roughly 70 percent cooked, It will feel gelatinous still in the thickest parts of the fish.
  • Mix together the remaining 1/4 cup butter, soy sauce, and maple syrup and pour over the cooking salmon, it will run off the sides so use a spoon to pour it back over the fish the best you can, it's perfectly fine that some will be on the sides of the pan.
  • Continue cooking for 5 to 10 minutes more or until fish is cooked through, it will feel firm but still moist and soft when pressed on and the ridges will flake or pull apart if pressed on.
