Servings: 15 biscuits
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup cold salted butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- Optional - 1 tablespoon milk or cream to brush on tops for golden color on top
Pre-heat oven to 375 F.
In a bowl add flour, baking powder, salt and sugar and mix well.
Cut cold butter into chunks and add to flour and mix with hands or a pastry cutter into flour until you have pea sized butter chunks.
Mix milk and vinegar together and let sit for 1 minute then add to the flour and butter mixture and stir until a dough forms. The less you mix this dough the better your layers will be.
Flour a surface and roll dough out to about 3/4 to 1 inch thickness and use a round cookie cutter to make round biscuits.
Place on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and brush tops with milk or cream for a golden top.
Bake for ~9-12 minutes or until biscuits are risen and look baked, don't over bake.
