Sourdough Pizza Dough No Yeast

Easy sourdough pizza dough with no yeast. This takes a little time like most sourdough's do but is simple to make and tastes delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sourdough starter
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

  • Mix the water, sourdough starter, salt and flour together in a bowl and mix until a dough forms. Lightly knead dough then place the dough in a container that has room for some rising and place in refrigerator overnight or for a day or two, until you are ready to use it.
  • When you are ready to make the pizza, Roll out dough thinly and place on a greased or light dusted (with cornmeal or semolina flour) pizza pan or if you are making this in a pizza oven, on a grill or on a pizza stone then place on a greased or dusted (with cornmeal or semolina flour) piece of parchment paper.
  • Cover dough with a greased piece of plastic wrap and let it rise on the counter for 2-4 hours before topping and baking.
  • When ready to bake, preheat oven to 500 F. or your desired temperature for baking pizza, Some pizza ovens heat up really hot and you may bake at a higher temperature.
  • Dock your dough by pierce little holes with a tool or fork to prevent bubbles from forming in the dough.
  • Add sauce and toppings of choice.
  • Bake for approximately 10 minutes, depending on the temperature and cooking method for your pizza.
  • If baking on parchment paper then use that to slide the pizza into the pizza spatula or shovel and then into the oven with the parchment still under it. Be aware that it might brown or burn if temperatures are hot and that is ok, however, if you don't want that to happen then remove the paper after the pizza has had a few minutes to bake and crust firms up a little.
  • Remove from oven after desired baking time, slice and enjoy.
