1/4cupflour or gluten free baking mix- to dust burgers in
oil for searing burgers
Suggested burger toppings:
roasted green chili peppers
fresh tomato
ketchup with chipolte seasoning or adobo sauce added
avocado
lettuce
grilled onion
spinach
jalapenos
Instructions
In a pan, add diced onion and olive oil and cook until onion starts to brown. Add water to onions and cook until water evaporates and onions soften fully.
add cooked onions, sweet potato, black beans, oats, onion powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder and chili powder into a food processor or blender and blend until mixture is roughly mushed together, a little texture is good but mixture should be able to hold together.
Press into 4 black bean burgers and dip in flour or gluten free baking mix, this will help keep the burgers together when cooked.
Add oil to a pan and sear each burger off until a slightly crisp crust forms on the each burger.
Served on your favorite bun with desired toppings.
