Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole

If I lost you at casserole, come back!! I promise this is an AMAZING recipe! Seriously the best green bean dish I’ve had. It’s got flavor depth from the mushrooms, creaminess, the fresh green beans bake up to have the best texture, the french fried onions aid in this savory flavor bomb AND as if those were not all enough, I throw in bacon and that takes this dish over the moon!

What you need

Serves 6

1 Tablespoon Butter

1 Onion- diced small

4 ounces Sliced White Mushrooms

1 1/2 Cups Chicken Stock

1/4 Cup Cream

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper

1 Pound Green Beans – boiled in water for roughly 3 minutes then drained

1 Ounce Bacon Bites

1/2 Cup French Fried Onions

Boil or steam fresh green beans for roughly 3 minutes or until they are slightly cooked but still firm, drain liquid and set aside.

In a pan, add butter, onion, white mushrooms, salt and pepper and stir until onions are translucent and start to brown. Add chicken stock and cream. Stir over medium high heat for 3 minutes and the sauce will begin to simmer. Add steamed and drained green beans and stir together. Empty pan into a baking dish and top with bacon bits and french fried onions. Bake for 20 minutes on a 375 F. oven.
