Maple Nut Scones

Maple-nut scones! These are quick, easy and totally delicious!

What you need

Makes 8 wedges

2 cups flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 tsp salt

6 tablespoons cold butter

1 large egg

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/2 cup milk

Topping:

3 Tablespoons chopped nuts

3 Tablespoons brown sugar

1 Tablespoon maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Maple glaze:

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons melted butter

2 tablespoons milk

sprinkle of salt

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 F.

Mix dry ingredients together, chop cold butter into little chunks then work into flour mixture, keeping pea sized chunks. Add maple syrup, egg and milk and mix together until a ball forms, knead briefly then form into a round mound.

Dump dough mound onto a cookie sheet and press out slightly to make about a 6 inch wide circle.

In a small bowl, combine chopped nuts, brown sugar, maple syrup and cinnamon.

Add topping to the top of your dough round. Cut into 8 triangular wedges and separate them on the greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes.

Place on a cooling rack, drizzle with a maple glaze. Enjoy!
