Easy Naan Bread

This Easy naan bread recipe is super simple and easy to make! You only need 4 ingredients and it doesn’t take any time to rise or really much kneading so it’s ideal to make along with dinner.

I love to eat this with my butter chicken recipe HERE or my chicken tikka masala recipe HERE.

I don’t know why for years I thought making naan bread at home just wasn’t something I could do because I don’t have a tandoori pot to slap the dough onto and have it turn out perfectly authentic. However, after making it the past few years on a griddle, I have realizes just how easy a task it is and how close to the authentic version it can be!

What you need to make easy naan bread:

Makes ~12 pieces

  • 3-3 1/2 cups flour – plus more for rolling out naan
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1 cup milk
  • optional – garlic butter and sprinkle of salt

Instructions

  1. Add 3 cups flour and salt to bowl and mix together.
  2. Add sour cream and milk and mix dough together and knead until dough comes together and is fairly smooth, adding the remaining 1/2 cup flour if dough is still sticky.
  3. Separate dough into 12 pieces and roll into thin pieces.
  4. On a griddle or in a pan, temperature set to 375 F.. Add rolled out pieces and cook until each side is cooked and lightly browned. Dough will bubble, each piece will bubble differently and more bubbles will form the longer it sits on the griddle/pan.
  5. Optional – toss in garlic butter and sprinkle with salt.
  6. Enjoy!
