Harissa and Tahini Roasted Cauliflower

This harissa and tahini roasted cauliflower is such a delicious way to enjoy cauliflower! The harissa is beautifully present and the tahini is creamy and delicious, a squeeze of lemon juice over the top brings the whole dish together!

This cauliflower can be made in a air fryer for a quick 12 minute side dish or oven roasted in about 35 minutes. It’s super easy to make, just toss in olive oil, salt and harissa then roast and then toss in tahini and lemon juice.

This cauliflower almost eats like a vegan “wing”. Even though I am not vegan, I did go vegan for a few weeks a few years ago for some health reasons and I would have eaten this once a week if I had created this recipe back then.

What you need to make this harissa and tahini roasted cauliflower: (printable recipe is below)

Serves 4 people as a side or 2 as a main dish

  • 1 large head of cauliflower or about 5 cups cauliflower florets – cut into florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 -1 teaspoon dried harissa seasoning or if using harissa paste, 1 tablespoon- 1 1/2 tablespoons – adjust to spice preference, 1/2 teaspoon will be mild
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl combine cauliflower florets, olive oil, salt and harissa together and mix around well so spice is evenly distributed over cauliflower.

For an air fryer:

  1. Add seasoned cauliflower to air fryer and cook on 400 F. for 12 minutes or until cauliflower is roasted and tender.
  2. Place in a bowl and toss in tahini and lemon juice, Enjoy.

For oven baked:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
  2. Place on a lined cookie sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes or until cauliflower is roasted and tender.
  3. Remove from cookie sheet and toss in tahini and lemon juice. Enjoy!
