I love this honey walnut chocolate chip banana bread! I love honey, I love banana bread and I love walnuts and chocolate chips on their own so me loving this combination should not surprise anyone.

This banana bread feels decadent and dessert like with the addition of the chocolate chips.

This makes one large loaf of bread or 2 smaller bread pans full. The bake time will lessen with the two pans, bake times are on the recipe below.

What you need to make honey walnut chocolate chip banana bread:

Makes 1 large loaf or two medium loaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine bananas, brown sugar, honey, butter, eggs and vanilla and blend until smooth.
  3. Add cinnamon, salt, flour, baking powder and blend until batter is smooth.
  4. Add in walnuts and chocolate chips.
  5. Pour batter into a greased large bread pan and sprinkle top with walnuts.
  6. For a large loaf, Bake for 1 hour and 20-30 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and come out clean or if baking two medium loaves, bake 45 minutes to an hour or until the a toothpick can be inserted and come out clean.
  7. Cover the top of the loaf with aluminum foil if it begins to brown too quickly.
  8. Allow bread to cool before removing from pan and slicing.
  9. Enjoy!

  • 3 bananas – ripe and peeled
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup butter – melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup walnut halves – mixed in and a little bit for on top
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
