Stone Fruit Sorbet

Stone fruit sorbet!! This stuff is sweet summer in a bowl! Peach, nectarine and plums make up this simple and delicious (and yes even healthy) dessert!

I love stone fruits and when they are in season this sorbet is a easy and delicious option. It’s dairy free, gluten free and healthy! 

What you need to make stone fruit sorbet:

serves 6 people

3 Peaches Peeled and pitted
2 Nectarines Peeled and Pitted
2 Plums Pitted
1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
1/2 cup Simple Syrup

Simple syrup:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar

To make simple syrup:
Heat water and sugar in pan or microwave until sugar is dissolved .

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. If using an ice cream maker, prepare ahead of time.
  2. To make Simple syrup combine 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup sugar and heat in sauce pan over medium high heat until sugar is dissolved or microwave mixture for about 1 1/2 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Let mixture cool before adding to sorbet recipe.
  3. Peel and pit the peaches and Nectarines.
  4. Pit the Plums but leave the skins on.
  5. In a blender, Combine the fruits with Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup and blend until smooth.
  6. Pour into prepared ice cream maker or freeze and stir every 45 mintues until frozen.
  7. You can also make this in a zip lock bag by pouring 1/2 of the mixture into a gallon sized bag and sealing well then placing that bag inside of another zip lock bag that has 3 tablespoons salt and 2 cups ice in it. Seal that bag too and begin shaking and working the mixture until it freezes.
