Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie

This strawberry banana protein smoothie is very similar to the strawberry banana protein smoothie from Smoothie King. It has strawberries, banana’s, coconut water, apple juice and vanilla protein powder in it.

When this smoothie gets blended it fluffs up a lot and becomes soft and almost ice cream like. It’s a delicious way to get in some nutrients and hit your protein goals for the day.

Because this smoothie will expand when blended, it’s perfectly portioned for a standard blender bottle and is perfect to make and take on the go.

This recipe uses coconut water in it for some extra hydration and nutrition. If you want to substitute that with water or milk you can definitely do that. The coconut water isn’t a strong influence on the flavor of this recipe so switching it out won’t change much.

Here is what you need to make this strawberry banana protein smoothie:

Makes between ~24 ounces (it may puff up to more than this when blended but the base amount of the smoothie is around 24 ounces)

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 banana – fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1-2 scoops vanilla protein powder (depends on the brand of protein powder you are using, follow the serving size on the bottle)
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1 heaping cup ice

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. To thin smoothie, add water or more coconut water. To thicken, add more ice or use frozen banana.
