Vegetarian Cheeseburger Meatballs

These vegetarian cheeseburger meatballs are the perfect vegetarian burger fix, packed into a delicious meatball. These are great for a main course or as a party appetizer.

I am not vegetarian, but I do love cooking meals on occasion that are meat free or vegan. I love building up the flavors that are found in a traditional meat dish but in a meat free way so that they taste like the real deal. These meatballs are one of those dishes! I really enjoyed these and didn’t miss the meat at all.

What you need to make these vegetarian cheeseburger meatballs:

Makes 12 Meatballs

For the meatballs:

  • 12 ounces impossible burger
  • 2 slices bread – chopped
  • 3.4 cup onions – minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

For cooking the meatballs:

  • 1/2 cup flour for rolling meatballs in
  • olive oil for cooking meatballs

For the sauce:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F..
  2. In a large bowl, add all meatball ingredients and mix together well.
  3. Form into 12 meatballs or desired meatball size.
  4. Mix together the sauce in a bowl and set aside.
  5. Roll meatballs in flour and then heat a skillet with olive oil in it.
  6. Brown meatballs on all sides then add the sauce and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Enjoy!
