Salted Caramel Buttercream

Salted Caramel Buttercream is a luxurious frosting that blends the rich flavors of caramel with a hint of sea salt, all incorporated into a creamy butter base. It pairs well with a wide array of baked goods such as cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and cookies, offering a balance of sweet and salty that elevates simple desserts to gourmet levels.

The smooth texture of the buttercream provides a velvety mouthfeel, which contrasts nicely with the occasional sharp bite of sea salt. This unexpected twist not only enhances the caramel flavor but also adds a layer of complexity to the overall taste profile.

I love to use this frosting on my easy persimmon spice cake or use it on a pumpkin spice cake and it will taste amazing too! It works great on vanilla cupcakes, as a sweet dip for fruit or pretzels, or on sugar cookies. it’s a versatile and delightful fusion of flavors sure to please any palate.

I like to use a store bought ice cream caramel sauce for this frosting recipe because it makes it really easy and tastes great. After using the caramel sauce you can adjust the salt in the frosting according to your own preference.
